The BBR Awards Night: Celebrating Achievements and Community Bonds

After another exceptional six months at Bodies by Ryan, the bi-annual awards night showcased the hard work and determination of our amazing members. BBR Owner Ryan Devereux shares his thoughts on a very proud night for him and his coaching team.

The much-anticipated BBR Awards night once again brought our vibrant community together for a memorable evening. It's a time when members set aside their gym gear and slip into something fabulous to enjoy conversations that go beyond the fleeting exchanges before and after our sessions. As coaches, we were thrilled to witness the transformation of our members in an atmosphere of absolute camaraderie and celebration.

These nights capture the essence of what we stand for. They allow us to applaud the hard work of our members and give them the recognition they truly deserve. While trophies are handed out to acknowledge the dedication poured into training, the true essence lies in fostering a sense of unity, appreciating each individual's journey, and rejoicing in every member's progress. At BBR, we believe in celebrating all our members, as the gym serves as a haven where they can leave behind life's stresses and focus on connecting, sweating, breathing, moving, lifting, and of course, smiling. This ethos is the cornerstone of our business model — creating a family-like environment where every member feels cherished, connected, and valued.

This year's award winners are a testament to the dedication of our members. The BBR Transformation awards were bestowed upon Will Goodbourne, Dean Hollier, and our esteemed member-turned-trainer, Emily Abba. The title of ‘Most Consistent’ was well-deserved by Mackenzie Andrews, while ‘Most Determined’ recognised Sandra Tanz's unwavering commitment. Keep an eye out for these weapons in an upcoming blog post that will have your jaws on the floor…
We also proudly presented our annual BBR Hall of Fame Award, symbolising exceptional support for fellow members and uplifting the community, to Lisa Adams. Lisa's radiant smile and infectious positivity light up every session.

The "Tough Times Don't Last, Tough People Do" award spotlighted a group of members at BBR who rallied around a fellow member navigating tough times. The evening also paid tribute to the outstanding achievements of our head trainer, Chantel Baker, who exhibited remarkable dedication not only in her fitness journey, but also in her role as a trainer. We bid farewell to the remarkable Justine Spurr, a bedrock of the team, and celebrated her three years of extraordinary service.

As the awards concluded, I introduced a new presentation named "This Is Your Journey." Janette Thompson joined me on the stage and we shared a visual timeline of Janette's transformative journey — from her initial check-in two years ago to her recent photoshoot. Janette's journey, resulting in over 20kg of fat loss and approximately 4kg of muscle gain, was commemorated with a BBR - Everyday Inspiration Medal.

In the middle of the fun, BBR photographer Yuhki gathered everyone for an exuberant group photo, where everyone showcased their well-earned accolades with radiant smiles. As the lights dimmed and the energy surged, BBR Member Rach Taylor took over the DJ decks, ensuring that the revelry continued well into the night. Rumor has it that some members kept the party spirit alive until the early hours at The Court.

While Saturday morning might have seen a few groggy heads, the shared memories, sense of achievement, and connections formed during the BBR Awards Night continue to resonate, encapsulating the spirit of our incredible community.

Much love,

Coach Rhino x
