Drumroll please! BBR, we present to you our 2024 transformation of the Year, Denise Driscoll!!
At the start of 2024, Denise looked and felt like a completely different human. She’s a mum, business owner of the very popular Deli Chi Chi and a busy lady who had let fitness hit the backburner for a period. Inspired by friends who had great results at BBR, Denise launched her own transformation phase and has continued to improve all aspects of her life – her physique in particular! Now you can order protein shakes, iced long blacks and other BBR-approved meals at Deli Chi Chi, as Denise continues to inspire everyone around her, including her much-loved customers. Congratulations Denise, you look a million dollars! Here’s Denise’s story…
BBR: Please tell us about your health and fitness history prior to BBR...
DD: I’ve been into sport and fitness most of my life.. I’ve had lulls here and there as we all do with work and family commitments throughout the years - Sometimes huge lulls admittedly!
BBR: Who or what prompted you to sign up to BBR and why was it the right time for you to join?
DD: I’d had one of those lulls and was feeling uninspired, overweight and knew I needed help. My lifestyle had become terrible and I bumped into a friend doing BBR and saw her amazing transformation and was instantly excited!
BBR: How hard was it in the early days? What challenged you the most?
DD: It was sooo hard! The tiredness was insane. It took the whole of the first 6 weeks to combat and adjust to this; reprogramming my lifestyle to eat cleaner, drink more water, get enough rest, and the early starts for 5.15am classes. Nanna naps were my norm for many many weeks after work. Sooo worth it!
BBR: Were there any changes you made that were enjoyable or easy straight away?
DD: Protein shakes! Loved them and still do. I now offer them in my café actually as they are just the bomb! I loved having 2 brekkies. Protein shake after class, then another brekkie a bit later really was a game changer. It started the day right and stopped me from getting hungry and snacking!
BBR: How long did it take for you to feel changes?
DD: Within a week I felt my body changing. It was amazing. Week 3 the tiredness wasn’t as extreme, and the body really started becoming stronger.
BBR: Please tell us about the changes you've experienced over your time with BBR…
DD: Since joining I’ve lost nearly 16 kilos. The gym sessions were incredible. I knew if I just kept turning up I had a chance of getting back in shape. Doing some Challenges made me hyper focus to lose some weight, increase muscle, and also commit to changing eating habits. I kept saying to myself you can do this for six weeks - it’s only six weeks of your life, for goodness sake! I trained six days a week and followed my plan; #sttfp is real! Haha. I love the muscles I’ve created and the ability, as an older woman, to be the most agile I’ve been in ages. All the aches and pains, the little niggles magically disappeared!
BBR: Do you have any upcoming goals you're working on for 2025 and beyond?
DD: This year I simply want to remain at my set weight. Like most of us, I have a history of fluctuating! I definitely want more lean muscle, as for older woman this is super important. I think this will consolidate making exercise and healthy eating just part of my life. I really want that.

DD: Europe. The architecture, food and different cultures. Amazing!
