BBR Success Story!

One of our young guns, Jasmin bounces into BBR at 5am ready to learn, lift and challenge herself daily. We love her full speed enthusiasm and big heart, and we’re so proud of how far she’s come since joining BBR. With no prior gym history, Jasmin took a leap of faith with us at BBR and has continued to evolve with every challenge. We can’t wait to see her become even more of a powerhouse in 2025. Here’s Jasmin’s story so far…

BBR: Tell us about your health and fitness history prior to BBR...

JB: Before starting at BBR, I had never engaged in strength training, just team sports and hiking. It was always something I was interested in but didn't really know how to start. However, BBR turned out to be the perfect place for me! I had already lost a substantial amount of weight and was looking for the next step to improve my fitness.

BBR: Who or what prompted you to sign up for BBR, and why was it the right time for you to join?

JB: I’d been living in Perth for about six months and had just returned after a break down south. When my uni semester began, I wanted to improve my fitness by joining a gym. BBR was located conveniently nearby, so I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined.

BBR: How hard was it in the early days? What challenged you the most?

JB: At the very beginning, I was quite nervous about entering an environment I was unfamiliar with, and it was overwhelming to learn all the movements and how everything worked. Thankfully, the coaches are very understanding and welcoming, and guided me along the way. By the end of the first week, I also learned the importance of stretching after experiencing soreness like never before.

BBR: Were there any changes you made that were enjoyable or easy straight away?

JB: Establishing a routine of waking up early and beginning my day with a workout was incredible. While I don't drink coffee, my morning workouts now provide the energy and positive start to my day. Though it wasn't easy initially, the gym community and coaches made it easier and I really enjoy beginning my morning with BBR.

BBR: How long did it take for you to feel changes?

JB: Around four months, after completing a challenge, I truly started to feel a difference. Initially, I was just familiarising myself with the concept of lifting weights, but when I incorporated nutrition into it for the challenge, I could see and feel the difference.

BBR: Please tell us about the big changes you've experienced over your time with BBR…

JB: It has definitely been a time of change. I now feel a bit off balance if I don't start my day with a BBR workout; it's become an integral part of my lifestyle that I miss when I'm away. This journey has also marked a period of muscle growth and an increase in strength, which I have enjoyed immensely.

BBR: Do you have any upcoming goals you're working on for 2025 and beyond?

JB: Indeed, I do! Last year was a time of learning for me in the health and fitness arena. This year, I aspire to apply that knowledge with increased discipline and consistency. I also aim to grow my strength while developing a better mindset regarding food.

Fas Five Faves

BBR: Fave exercise or session at BBR?

JB: Dumbbell stiff leg deadlift or back squat. I also enjoy Saturday morning HIIT and strength sessions; they’re such a great way to start the weekend!

BBR: Least fave?

JB: I'm not a huge fan of sissy squats or Bulgarian exercises, and I doubt I will ever enjoy burpees or the assault bike…

BBR: Fave BBR plan meal?

JB: I really love the yogurt and berry snack; it's simple yet delicious. I've also recently enjoyed the garlic and lemon baked chicken with salad.

BBR: Fave café and your order there?

JB: I don't have a particular favourite café, but I greatly enjoy pancakes or an acai or smoothie bowl whenever I visit one.

BBR: Fave holiday destination?

JB: I went on a trip to Malaysia last year and thoroughly enjoyed trekking through the Borneo jungles and diving.
